Going Green

The Magnificent Mile is doing its part to keep our environment clean and the race sustainable. With our 2010 Go Green Plan, we join a small but growing number of area races participating in Endurance Magazine’s Race Without a Trace initiative. This year, The Magnificent Mile will: Create a digital race packet Rely primarily on email to promote the race and our sponsors Provide runners’ instructions at a kiosk in the registration tent Use recyclable timing chips for the competitive mile Serve water from reusable coolers Provide compostable cups ONLY for water and gatoraide Eliminate overly packaged food on race day Set up recycling/composting/trash stations Assign Master Recycler volunteers to each station Mark each station with reusable signs Donate leftover food to Raleigh Rescue Mission
